The Tasman Community Bus is not an emergency service, ambulance service or substitute for specialised medical transport.

Separate booking requirements and conditions apply when a bus is requested for community use.

Accessibility

We want passengers to have clear information about the bus before booking.

Vehicle access

The bus has a small step at the entrance and is not wheelchair accessible. It does not have a wheelchair lift or provision for a passenger to remain seated in a wheelchair while travelling.

Passengers must be able to board and leave the bus safely, either independently or with assistance from a travelling companion.

Drivers cannot lift passengers or provide personal-care assistance.

Mobility aids

Walking sticks, folding walking frames and other small mobility aids may be carried where they can be safely stored without blocking the aisle, doors or emergency exits.

Please provide information about any mobility aid when booking so we can confirm whether it can be safely accommodated.

Bus stops

Some stops may have uneven surfaces, limited shelter or roadside access. Passengers who have concerns about reaching or using a particular stop should contact Council before booking.

Assistance animals

Accredited assistance animals are welcome. Please advise Council when booking so safe travel arrangements can be confirmed.

Help with booking

Passengers who cannot use the online booking system can make a booking or request assistance by contacting Tasman Council on (03) 6250 9200.

If you have a mobility, sensory, communication or other accessibility requirement, please contact Council before travelling. We will discuss your needs honestly and determine whether the available service can accommodate them safely.
